This 40,000 square foot two-story addition to an existing switching facility was designed to house terabit switch routers - used to transmit enormous volumes of data through high speed fiber-optic networks. The extreme heat generated by these terabit routers required a sophisticated HVAC system. The design team responded with an innovative air distribution system utilizing evaporative cooling and the coolness of the outside air during the winter months to provide a significant energy and cost savings to the client. FS&L worked from project conception to the last day of construction to provide knowledgeable and practical design solutions to aid in the creation of this inventive facility.
